Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu  is a Japanese food consisting of pork slices coated flour crumb and fry in oil that much. There are two types of hire and rosu . Often served with slices of cabbage
Tonkatsu comes from Japan in the 19th century. In addition to serving as a single dish, tonkatsu is sometimes used as a bread contents or combined with Japanese Curry.

Preparation and presentation
Neither the filet portion  nor the waist pork can be used; meat is usually salted, thinly coated with wheat  flour , dipped in beaten chicken eggs , and then coated with panko ( bread or panir flour ) before being fried in a lot of oil.
Tonkatsu is usually served with slices of cabbage. This dish is usually eaten with a kind of Worcesterhire sauce creamy sauce tonkatsu or simply Sosu (sauce), Karashi ( mustard ) and sometimes slices of lemon . Usually the tonkatsu is served with white rice, miso soup and tsukemono (a kind of Japanese pickle) and is eaten using chopsticks. Sometimes besides served with tonkatsu sauce, this dish can also be served with ponzu sauce and grated horseradish.

Variations
Tonkatsu is also popular as a sandwich dish ( katsu sando ) or served with Japanese Curry ( katsu karē ).
Tonkatsu is also sometimes served with eggs on a bowl of rice as katsudon .
In Nagoya and surrounding areas are known to be typical dishes, miso katsu , tonkatsu eaten with miso -based sauce.
Variations of tonkatsu can be made by clamping meat with other ingredients such as cheese or shiso leaves , and then coated in panir and then fried. For those who are conscious of calories, my konnyaku sheet sometimes clamps the meat.
Some variations of tonkatsu use a substitute for pork:
  • Chicken katsu ( チ キ ン カ ツ ), which uses chicken meat , usually appears in Hawaiian luncheon dish dishes.
  • Menchi Katsu or Minchi Katsu (mince Katsu ), is a patty of breaded meat then fried.
  • Hamu Katsu ( ham katsu ), a similar dish made from ham, is usually considered an inexpensive alternative to tonkatsu .
  • Gyū katsu (katsu beef), also called bīfu katsu , is popular in the Kansai region around the Osaka and Kobe region .
Saengseonkkaseu (katsu ikan) is a Korean flour fried fish katsu that mimics Japanese cuisine. Tonkatsu in Korea is called donkkaseu  or donkaseu , a simple Japanese translation into Korean.
Other similar dishes that use basic ingredients other than pork, beef, or chicken are usually called furai (from English : fry ), bukat katsu ( English : cutlet ), such as aji-furai (fried fishmelon) and ebi-furai (floured fried shrimp)
